Both mains electric and leisure battery systems are tested:

• RCD test at consumer unit

• 12V circuit inspection

• Condition and charging of leisure battery

• Operation of lights, control panels & switches

• 230V socket checks

• EHU inlet inspection

• Wiring and cable condition check

3. Water & Plumbing System

Ensures the water system is sanitary and leak free:

• Operation of water pump

• Inspection of fresh and waste water systems

• Tap, mixer, and shower checks

• Toilet system inspection (flush, seals, valves)

• Water heater operation (gas and/or electric)

4. Damp & Moisture Inspection

A full damp report is one of the most important checks:

• Moisture readings taken throughout the motorhome

• Inspection of walls, roof, floor, and lockers

• Identification of potential water ingress points

• Damp report provided 

5. Ventilation

Ensures safe operation and proper airflow:​

• Windows/Opening Vents

6. Appliances & Interior Fittings

All installed appliances and fittings are tested for operation:

• Fridge (gas/12V/230V where applicable)

• Cooker, oven, hob

• Heating and Water `heating systems

• Microwave & other fitted equipment

• Cupboards, doors & catches

• Window stays & blinds

• Rooflights & flyscreens

• Seating, beds, and soft furnishings

• Steps, grab handles & table mounts

7. Bodywork & Exterior Checks

Ensures the habitation shell remains watertight and secure:

• Door and window seal inspection

• Locker doors operation

• Bodywork condition & joint inspection

• Awning rail and fixings

• Roof condition (visual inspection)

8. Fire & Safety Equipment

All onboard safety systems are checked:

• Smoke alarm

• Carbon monoxide detector

• Fire extinguisher (if installed)

• Fire blanket

• Ventilation

What’s Not Usually Included

A habitation service does not typically include engine, chassis, brakes, or mechanical servicing — those are part of a motorhome mechanical service carried out at a garage.
